Dep Art Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Wolfram Ullrich (Würzburg, 1961), which will be presented in the PROFILE SECTION of Expo Chicago Fair.
PROFILE presents solo booths and focused projects by established international galleries. Showcasing ambitious installations and tightly focused thematic exhibitions, this section features major projects by a single artist, providing a curatorial platform for solo presentations.
Wolfram Ullrich always specifies he studied Painting and not Sculpture, and, after his experience with the Islands, or other cycles like Window and Zone, his works once again occupy the space of the wall, though they definitively acquire body and weight. The material of choice is steel; the works, as the artist himself explains, are literally built by assembling different parts, a process unlike sculpture, where subtraction is key, and so materials like wood are not even conceivable.
Thanks to direct collaboration with the artist, the works in the exhibition have been produced especially for the event and are being shown for the first time.
Dep Art has been collaborating with Wolfram Ullrich for several years. In the past he organized: MARCA di Catanzaro (2018), MAC di Lissone (2019), and Museum für Konkrete Kunst Ingolstadt (2020).
